There are several methods to locate and purchase a used vehicle or
to sell your old one. Not too long ago we all used the printed news
paper (Post Dispatch) as our best resource, or one of the other
publications like the Tradin' Times. Man, the good old days.
Like most people we're glad technolgy has given us other options.
Craigslist, Autotrader, Carsoup, STLToday, etc. are just a few places
you can visit on the web to either post a vehicle for sale or search
for that new, or used car. There are also websites to help establish
value, like NADA, Kelley Blue Book or Edmunds.
So, grab your coffee, it's going to be a long night!

For customers selling cars locally we allow the display of fliers in
our waiting area. We have also helped those moving, out of state or
the country, to sell their vehicle, alleviating some of the stress
associated with the whole process of moving.

When vehicles are not repairable, and require disposal, we use one
of several salvage/junk yards in the metro area. These situations
can be tough because the price paid by a salvage yard can vary greatly
and is normally not what we, as owners, would like to get. Typically
you will see offers from $25.00-$250.00 depending on the year, make
model and condition. Remember, they do not take into consideration
all of the repairs or new parts you have made, if the engine or
transmission has failed you will not get much for it.

Some people prefer to donate a vehicle to their favorite charity.
Keep in mind the laws have changed recently, we recommend a
thorough understanding of the tax implications prior to donating.
It may be helpful to know that if you donate most organizations
contract with an outside company to do the work. This company, in
most cases, will tow the vehicle to an auction, sell it and take
their fees out before any proceeds are distributed to the charity.
This could reduce the amount the charity ends up with, drasitically
in some cases. Another method, if a vehicle is still road worthy,
is to sell the vehicle to a private party and then donate the cash.
The person buying the vehicle obtains reasonable transportation,
the charity ends up with more money and you should feel great for
helping both parties.
